Aren’t they a beauty? These nylon woven hoop chairs on metal steel frame are so colourful. A great addition to your patio this Spring. They are comfortable and available in a variety of colours. Made in Togo, Africa and are available at Plastica.com.
Space Saving Chairs For Your Home
My friend threw a pot-luck gathering at her home recently and a few of us were invited. It was a fun gathering and I always love hanging out at her home. She has a unique decor taste, sort of like a cross between minimalist and shabby chic. During the dinner get-together, she took out some colourful chairs for guests and they look like the virco school furniture chairs. I really like them because they are stackable and space-saving. Perhaps I should get a few too.
Storage For Music Room
My friend invited me over to her house for dinner last weekend. It was to celebrate her husband’s birthday. The dinner get-together was simply wonderful and the birthday ‘boy’ was so happy as it was a surprise dinner. I enjoy going to my friend’s home because I love to see how she decorates her living space. I spotted this Manchester Media stand which she ordered from Urban Outfitters. This mid-century inspired stand has a sleek and functional design. It is great for holding record players, laptops and many more. Since my friend’s husband is a music lover, she uses this stand to hold the marshall 50th anniversary amp and vinyls. It is the perfect addition to their music room.
Things I Heart
I have just discovered The Future Perfect Store while surfing the internet. I just love its quirky and unique furniture. Here’s what I heart.
The Classic Cupboard made from scrapwood material. This cupboard is sold in an unfinished version and each piece is unique.
The Bucketseat in scrapwood Low is also maded from recycled material and is left unpainted.
The Tree Trunk Chair is unique as the wood is left raw and unfinished as part of the design.
West Elm Treasures
When I was at West Elm checking out some storage boxes for my catherine popesco jewelry, I chanced upon these beautiful John Vogel chairs. Renowned designer, John Vogel developed this chair from a solid wood prototype with a handwoven seat. I love the weaving design of the seats. These chairs are very beautiful and unique. They would look great in an all-white room, don’t you think so? I am just trying to picture them in my mind.
Beautiful Metal Chairs
On a recent beach vacation, I spotted a quaint cafe at a strip mall near the hotel I was staying. It was very cosy looking and it has placed a few tables and chairs outside the cafe for patrons who prefer to sit outdoor. The first thing I noticed are the very bright-coloured red metal chairs. I fell in love with them right away. So, when I saw this Ming Green Side Chair from Crates and Barrel, memories of my beach vacation came floating back. This chair looks similar to the red ones I saw. I like this Mint Green too. It is a fun colour and would definitely spruce up the home.
Indian-Inspired Decor
A dear friend of mine has just opened his own cafe downtown. It has always been his dream to open a cafe and since he loves music, he decided to incorporate a little stage inside the cafe where he and his friends can perform sometimes. He was a regular busker at the subway station when he was younger. He and his friends would carry their musical instruments in gator cases and make their way to different subway station every evening. Well now he can play to his heart content in his cafe. I was at the cafe opening last weekend and I was in awe with its decor. The cafe was decorated in indian-inspired furniture. There were lots of orange/brown hues throughout the cafe. I really love this cute elephant pouf and Safari Folding Chair which he got from Serena & Lily. I think I should do some shopping at Serena & Lily soon.
Anything Burlap
You all know how much I love repurposed furniture and knick-knacks eh? Well just to share – I stumbled upon a few sofas/chairs made of burlaps. Somehow this material really appeals to me. I find them very beautiful and I love its shade. I do wonder though if it would be ok to sit on a chair made of burlap because of its coarse texture.
What do you think?

My Kind Of Home
I was helping a friend to buy gold online the other day when I stumbled upon a beautiful home featured in SF Girl By Bay. It is just the kind of home that I love. I can picture myself staying in a house like this. So cozy and inviting. The home has white walls and flooring. It is filled with knick-knacks such as bamboo or wicker baskets and lots of vintage and wood furniture. Here are some photos of the home.
Seeing Red
Eventhough the Chinese New Year celebration is over, I am still seeing red. Well, don’t get me wrong. I am not mad with anybody. It is just that I have began to love having splashes of red in my home. Red is consider a very auspicious colour for the Chinese. Red symbolizes good luck and good fortune. It is also the colour of happiness. If you don’t want your home to be too overwhelming or intimidating, it would be great to add a splash of red in the form of a red sofa, chairs or even red throw cushions.
Another great idea is using a red rug too.
